Visita Iglesia
Another Holy Week is about to end. After three years, Rinnah, Aina and I were able to do the Way of the Cross again during Maundy Thursday. I remember that it was a Maundy Thursday of 2003 when Rinnah first set foot in the house again after we separated. It was the beginning of a reconciliation that culminated in her return on Mother's Day of the same year. It felt good to pray the Way of the Cross together again, even more so after my trip to the Holy Land last February. It seemed to have more meaning to me.
Our first stop was the Christ the King Church of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) along E. Rodriguez, Quezon City.
After the Way of the Cross, we joined the thousands of Filipinos in visiting seven churches or "Visita Iglesia". We went to churches near our home. Since New Manila has been touted as a "Little Vatican" because of the numerous religious congregations in the area, we had no difficulty in looking for churches.
Aside from prayers, Aina took photos of each of our stops. She enjoyed using my newly-acquired Sigma 10-20mm ultra-wide angle lens.
Our first stop was the Christ the King Church of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) along E. Rodriguez, Quezon City.Next was the Sto. Niño de Violago Chapel also in E. Rodriguez, beside the Waltermart complex.
Third was the St. Joseph Convent of the Pink Sisters along Doña Hemady Ave.
Then it was off to the Chapel of the Convent of the Carmelite Nuns in Gilmore Ave.
Next on the agenda was the Immaculate Conception Cathedral along Lantana St.
Finally, we visited Sacred Heart Church along Scout Fuentebella.
We were hungry after Visita Iglesia so we capped the night off with a light dinner at Bagoong Club.
Happy Easter to everyone!
