The resigned cabinet members and GMA's loyalists are going around trying to outdo each other on television. Although it is said that the loyalists seem to be having the edge, the recent Pulse Asia survey shows that the citizenry are not being fooled. We have an intelligent population and it would be very unwise to presume that you can sway opinion using "pa-pogi" and now, "pa-cute" tactics (boardwalk scene).
Speaker de Venecia is rearing his trapo head once more. Together with FVR, he is pushing for cha-cha (hoping that a Ramos-de Venecia dynasty would be the result). Who would benefit when the parliament elects the Prime Minister in a unicameral form of government – Mr. Rainbow Coalition or Mr. Win-Win himself. I know people can clearly see thru this seemingly patriotic maneuver.
As newsmen have noticed, the march of GMA with the cabinet was reminiscent of Erap's own march (with shadow boxing on the side) a few days before the fall. It is a show of muscle but sadly, it is not convincing at all. The President has lost a lot of weight and seems hard-up to put a composed and relaxed demeanor. Indeed, acting is not one of her best talents (did you notice radio messages instead of TV?).
The big rally of the opposition is tomorrow. Mayor Binay has projected a massive outpouring of support to call for GMA's resignation. Let's wait and see.
The middle class seems to have their own way of expressing their discontent – GMA Resign signature campaign via internet! Signatures increase by the hundreds everytime the site is visited (www.gmaresignnow.com). It is a way in which the silent majority can vent its disenchantment.
Jueteng inquiry is becoming a show. Shouting match was just too much. Hope new witnesses next week will bring more substance to the hearings. The best part of today's session was the "bahay kubo" of Supt. Mosqueda. If that is a "bahay kubo" how big is the main house?
Our country is in such a mess! God please show our leaders the right path to redemption. Maawa ka naman sa AMEN!
