D' Mikes

It seems a few number of Mikes have been the topic of the news in recent weeks. There is PGMA's husband, Big Mike, who has exiled himself in the U.S. came back for a while to attend his half-sister's funeral but who's presence was much more felt when witnesses began to recant their statements. There is Mikey, PGMA's eldest son, who is also in exile in the U.S. but who's name has also been mentioned as a beneficiary of jueteng money. Secretary Mike (Defensor), of the Environment Department has been going around town preaching PGMA's innocence and the oppositions evil scheme. It seems that his primary function now is to clear the air of any doubt regarding PGMA's election victory. He has also gone out of his way to plant suspicion on the oppositions motives by harvesting info from such dubious characters as Jonathan Tiongco. As of recent days, there is Brother Mike (Velarde) of the El Shaddai, who is said to be brokering a reconciliation between the PGMA and Erap camps but, to no avail. The Congress has its own version. The first day of the hearing on PGMA's impeachment was cut short because not all members had access to mics (microphones). From then on, the hearings were seen just as a chance for the Congressmen to practice their diction, use their vocabulary and project to the public their biases.

This coming week will be crucial. Come Tuesday, we will know whether the impeachment will push through to the Senate or be killed by the House. The public is waiting and hoping that the truth is allowed to come out.

I am hoping too, for our country, for our children, for our future. Since most of the people in the current situation are named Mike, I hope the good Lord sends Saint Michael, the Archangel from the high heavens and swiftly slays the dragon of evil so that our beloved country may live in Truth.
